VIDEO: ‘Barbershop Conversations’ in NC Give Voice to Black Male Voters

New Rural Project, a group focused on improving voter engagement in rural areas, helped elect four Black candidates in majority-white town and city councils this year.

Co-founder Cynthia Wallace said the key to improving voter participation in these areas was to actually listen to voters’ concerns.
