Helene ravaged western NC, including the town of Marshall, last September. But now local businesses like Mad Co. Brew House are hoping for a comeback.
When Hurricane Helene ravaged western North Carolina last September, the town of Marshall was devastated.
Many businesses closed for months due to water damage, mud, and lost inventory. But by May, many of the town’s businesses had reopened, and the community is welcoming back visitors.
Recently, Cardinal & Pine talked to Rhesa Edwards, who owns Mad Co. Brew House, a brewery and restaurant in Marshall. She says the town needs tourism to return.
“Our town is open, we’re ready to have more visitors come, we have shops and restaurants and all kinds of things to offer here in downtown Marshall.”
